SOMEONE ELSE'S MOVIE is just what it says on the label: Each week, an actor, director, screenwriter, critic or industry observer will discuss a film that he or she admires, but had no hand in making. Hosted as genially as possible by Norm Wilner.

Jan 5, 2016

With his short film O Negative screening January 15th at the Lightbox as part of Canada's Top Ten, actor/director Steven McCarthy dissects Jonathan Glazer's chilling Under the Skin -- an experimental study in alienation that's unrelenting as it is stylish. Your genial host Norm Wilner apologizes for Dexter snoring throughout the entire damn recording.

I'm glad things worked out, book-wise -- it's a great read and a really interesting concept, but I guess as far as cinema goes I prefer my aliens more oblique and unknowable.

Did not like this movie at all when we saw it at TIFF, so I listened to the podcast to hear why you loved it. This led me to the book - which I greatly enjoyed. THAT was the movie they should have made :)
